As a mom and a fellowship-trained pediatric dermatologist, Dr. Brandie Metz is dedicated to thorough and compassionate care for her patients. Dr. Metz earned her bachelor of science in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University, where she graduated cum laude, and her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, where she graduated at the top of her class. Her postgraduate training included a dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where she served as chief resident. She completed her pediatric dermatology fellowship training at Rady Children’s Hospital and University of California San Diego.
Dr. Metz has published over 30 journal articles, contributed to multiple dermatology textbooks, and spoken at dermatology conferences nationally and internationally. Dr. Metz has been practicing in Orange County since 2006. She lives in Irvine with her husband, Mark, and their two children. Dr. Metz has been named to the 2013 - 2016 Best Doctors lists published in OC Family magazine and the 2014 - 2016 Super Doctors Rising Stars lists published in Los Angeles magazine.
Dr. Brandie Metz
Megen studied health education and nursing at the University of Florida. She graduated in 2009 with her Masters Degree in Nursing with a specialty in Pediatrics. After graduating Megen worked for five years as a pediatric primary care provider in Florida and Northern California serving underprivileged communities. She returned home to Orange County in 2015 and further specialized in pediatric dermatology under the instruction of Dr. Metz. She has been with Pediatric Dermatology of Orange County since June of 2015. In her free time Megen enjoys hiking, camping and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Alex is a California licensed, Nationally Board-Certified Physician Assistant. She joined Pediatric Dermatology in 2018. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science from Texas A & M University in 2010 and her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Arc-Accredited Touro University in 2014. She has a heart for kids and a passion for practicing dermatology.
Alex was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She moved to Orange County shortly after graduating college and has called Newport beach home ever since. She and her husband, Dave, are deeply rooted in this community and plan to call it home for many years to come. In her free time, Alex enjoys cooking healthy meals, traveling and doing all things outdoors with her husband and their goldendoodle pup, Dudley.
